Zeus Street Greek was born! A marriage between the exotic flair of modern Hellenic street cuisine and the dynamic vibrancy of fresh Australian produce. It’s a celebration of two magnificent world cultures to reinvigorate the antiquated image of Mediterranean food in Australia. The journey for Zeus began in 2014 with a vision to bring this updated take on the Hellenic dining experience to the table in a crisp,​ ​contemporary​ ​and​ ​laid-back​ ​atmosphere.​ ​Simply,​ ​to​ ​deliver​ ​the​ ​best​ ​casual​ ​dining​ ​experience.

Costa has since assimilated a team behind him to bring his dream to fruition and Zeus has established a strong footprint with 20 locations across Australia.

Australia’s propensity towards the consumption of Mediterranean foods has been very strong historically. At 23, Costa started out with one pizza store & a very clear objective “Be the local favourite & integrate well​ ​with​ ​local​ ​area”.

Months into the business, Costa spotted an untapped opportunity yet to be exploited, so with that in mind he set out to create a “niche” offering, within the existing universal pizza offering. In 2002, he took​ ​the​ ​gamble​ ​and​ ​launched​ ​the​ ​concept​ ​“Crust​ ​Pizza”​ ​in​ ​Annandale,​ ​Sydney.

Such was the magnitude of his success that it prompted one of Australia’s biggest franchise giants, Retail​ ​Food​ ​Group​ ​to​ ​make​ ​an​ ​offer.​ ​The​ ​deal​ ​was​ ​completed​ ​in​ ​October​ ​2013.

Not​ ​one​ ​to​ ​sit​ ​on​ ​the​ ​laurels​ ​of​ ​his​ ​past​ ​glory,​ ​Costa​ ​went​ ​straight​ ​into​ ​the​ ​search​ ​of​ ​his​ ​next​ ​conquest. After months of travelling through the US, he realised that he only need tap into his ‘Hellenic Heritage’ for the winning recipe. In 2014 Zeus Street Greek was born, a Aussie brand the celebrates magnificent Mediterranean cuisine – marrying modern Greek street food with the best of Australian produce​ ​served​ ​in​ ​a​ ​relax,​ ​contemporary​ ​setting​ ​to​ ​deliver​ ​the​ ​best​ ​casual​ ​dining​ ​experience.

A teenager flipping burgers at his local Macca’s in Epping VIC, Adrian DiTonto found himself transfixed by the structure, organisation and systems that kept this fast food joint going, day in, day out. A quick learner, Adrian made his way through the management ranks and over 11 years mentored thousands​ ​of​ ​other​ ​people​ ​through​ ​the​ ​system.

Next Stop: Unilever. Over the next 8 years Adrian brought in the right expertise, shaped & built the franchise model. 30 locations later across ANZ, The Ben & Jerry’s business was the most successful launch​ ​and​ ​franchise​ ​within​ ​the​ ​global​ ​Unilever​ ​&​ ​Ben​ ​&​ ​Jerry’s​ ​world.

“It’s been lots of fun & rewarding too. It’s given me a deep appreciation & understanding of doing business different and having a positive impact on society. It made me super resilient, & taught me a lot about the importance of building brands/businesses for long term “sustainable” growth” …… Adrian​ ​on​ ​his​ ​career​ ​experiences​ ​so​ ​far.

In September 2017, Adrian handed over his scoop, & joined Zeus Street Greek as their newly appointed​ ​GM,​ ​and​ ​is​ ​looking​ ​forward​ ​to​ ​being​ ​a​ ​key​ ​part​ ​in​ ​its​ ​next​ ​stage​ ​of​ ​growth.

Young at heart, energetic and full of enthusiasm for the business. The list of adjectives is long, but we basically need people to be part of the business as owner-operators. That means managing teams, being​ ​detail-​oriented​​ ​and​ ​resilient​ ​in​ ​the​ ​face​ ​of​ ​adversity.
